ABOUT KATHERINE
From a very early age I’ve felt connected to the body. As a young person I took gymnastics, played sports (softball, karate, ice skating) and studied dance (ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hiphop, musical theatre). And so, movement easily became my passion. I continued my studies through college graduating with a Bachelors of Art in Dance from Kennesaw State University (2012). Post-college, I moved to New York City to pursue a career in dance while supporting myself as a personal trainer. Progressing to a Tier 3+ trainer, I worked at Equinox Brooklyn Heights (2013-2017) then shifted to an independent practice and founded Hivewild, a 501c3 non-profit, Brooklyn-based dance company.
MY TRAINING STYLE is grounded in functional movement as the foundational launching point. Applying my understanding of the body through the lens of a dancer, I focus on functionality, mobility, and bodyweight training as a starting point to strengthening the body. I prioritize training for life maintaining a balance between cardio, strength, circuit training, and recovery. I am a long-time yoga & Pilates aficionado and am dedicated to bringing joy and encouragement to every training session!
For further details, please send me a note and say hello! I’d love to get to know you.
